How to Uninstall Apps on MacBook Pro Mojave?

Removing an app deletes it from your Mac hard drive and creates the storage space that was vacant for other items. You can also remove apps from Launchpad or the Finder.

Launchpad provides a simple method to remove apps that had been downloaded from the App Store.

  • For opening Launchpad, select it in the Dock or open it from your Applications folder. You can also press closed using your thumb and three fingers on your track-pad.
  • If you are not able to view the app in Launchpad, enter its name in the search field which is present at the top of the screen. Further, hit right or left with two fingers on your track-pad to open the next or previous page.
  • Select and hold the Option (⌥) key, or hit and hold any app till the apps bounce up and down.

Select the X button which is located adjacent to the app that you want to remove, then select Delete to validate. The app will be removed instantly. Apps that don’t demonstrate an X button either didn’t appear from the App Store or are needed by your Mac. To remove an app that is not located in the App Store, utilize the Finder instead.

Removing an app doesn’t erase any subscription you may have subscribed with that app. Gather knowledge regarding cancelling subscriptions for apps that were installed from the App Store.

  • After Dragging the app to the Trash or selecting the app, select File > Move to Trash.
