Process to Reset SMC- For Mac Computers with Non-Removable Batteries-

  • Shut off your MacBook pro.
  • Now, connect one end of the Mag Safe connectors to the MacBook Pro and the other side to the electrical outlet.
  • Press Power, option, control, and Shift keys concurrently.
  • Leave all the keys and restart your Apple computer.

Process to Reset SMC- For Mac Computers with Removable Batteries-

  • Shut down your MacBook pro
  • Disconnect the MagSafe connector and remove the battery.
  • Press the on/off and keep on pressing it for the next 5 seconds.
  • Now, leave the button and reconnect the MagSafe connector.
  • Reboot your MacBook Pro.

2) Check Domain Name Settings:

Maybe the reason why you are not able to connect to the internet is because the DNS that your Mac is using is not functioning properly. DNS server changes the URL that you enter in the location bar into IP address.

  • Go to the DNS option provided by Google.
  • Select advanced
  • Go to network settings and click on DNS.
  • Now, click on the icon of ‘+”
  • Now, enter 8.8.8.8 in the DNS server box and hit OK.

3) Disable Bluetooth:

Sometimes disturbances are caused in the network when Bluetooth is enabled on your MacBook Pro. To get rid of such disturbances, you need to turn off your Bluetooth. To make an alteration, just go to the Apple Menu, system preferences, Bluetooth, and disable Bluetooth. See if modifying the Bluetooth settings helps you to connect to the internet.

Step 1: On your Apple computer, go to system preferences, Network, Advanced, TCP/IP and then router. There you will locate the IP address of your router. You can also find it on the base of your router device.

Step 2: Enter this IP address in the location bar of your web browser and click on the search icon. This will display the router settings page on your screen.

Step 3: Choose the channel as per your wish. Please ensure that the channel that you select is at least 5-7 channels far from the existing one.
